Worldwide 12 Months PS Plus Fee Compared

It's no secret to everyone that most of PSN users who joined PS Plus are mostly looking for playing games online, grabbing free games, or for special deals on games (and to some extend, if available in that region, movies too). And thanks to PS4 online requirement, Plus membership soaring high this year and bring a lot of profits to its parent company.

But, have you ever wondering who is paying the least for joining 12 months of PS Plus?

Here are the prices from several PSN regions converted into US Dollar. From most to least expensive, in each region.

America:
United States = $49.9
Mexico = $49.9 (uses USD)
Argentina = $49.9 (uses USD)
Canada $49.9 = $43.7
Brazil R$99.9 = $38.8

Europe, Oceania, Africa, South and Western Asia, CIS countries:
New Zealand $89.95 = $70.3
South Africa R749 = $67.6
United Arab Emirates = $64.99 (uses USD)
United Kingdom £39.9 = $62.4
European Union €49.95 = $62.3
India ₹3999 = $64.25
Israel ₪244 = $62.6
Australia $69.95 = $59.2
Russia RUB 2399 = $47.8

Japan:
¥5146 = $43.4

Asia (East Asia and South East Asia):
Malaysia RM129  =  $38.1
South Korea ₩41800 = $37.5
Singapore $43.9  = $35.1
Taiwan $1088   = $35.1
Hong Kong $268 = $34.6
Thailand ฿1130  =  $34.4
Indonesia Rp350000  = $28.7

For the value of online play, Indonesian pay the least expensive from everyone on the globe for under $30 a year, making it equals to $2.4/month and they can start playing online on PS4. Nevertheless, getting an Indonesian prepaid voucher online is next to impossible if you are not Indonesian since online transaction are conducted locally via ATM transfer and requires you to have an Indonesian bank account or even address. Even if you do have it, the prices are marked-up considerably for 15-20%.

Also Asian PSN is infamous for lack of offering in game Sales. Except the Rockstar Deals for some very old games several months ago, most of the discount are not as crazy-cheap as in US or UK. Even so, if your sole purpose to join PS Plus is for playing game online and nothing else, joining Asian PSN is the cheapest. And just by paying money equals to US$34.6 a year via your HK PSN account, you can have one year of online play on PS4.

Next on PS Plus offer is the free games

Speaking of Asian PSN, if you are interested in Asian PS Plus free games, you might be disappointed since PS4 titles are mostly same or a month late than US/UK region, but some of the PS3 offers for past one year are quite different including titles such as: Flower (incl crossbuy PS4, Vita), Tokyo Jungle, Do Not Fall, Castle Crasher (was also available on Europe Plus IGC), and many classic remasters such as Resident Evil Code Veronica, Soul Calibur II HD Online, Sonic Adventures 2, Nights into Dreams, and Fighting Vipers. If these games is what you want, you may find them valuable. Sadly many of the AAA games that were offered in Asian PSN this year, were already offered in US/UK in 2012 and 2013 so unless you are a newcomer, most likely you already have the game on your purchased list. Lastly most of those AAA are fighting games, it seems they are the priority genre this last 4 months.

Moving to Japan, free games for Japanese Plus is better to some extend, while the PS4 offers are more or less the same with other region (some being earlier, some are same, some are late), the PS3 offer varies greatly.

After the new format introduced in July for America and European region, the slot for free games reduced considerably and at least one of the game being offered is Indies that was unknown before. Japanese Plus on the other hand receives Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Batman Arkham Origins, Flower, Crysis, Demon's Souls, Lollipop Chainsaw, F1 Race Stars, FlOw, House of The Dead 4 and some AAA classic such as Metal Slug and Street of Rage. And if you are into Japanese import, the list goes on and on with RPG games like Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, Trails in the Sky Trilogy, and hundreds of classic PS1 games. Making it quite an attractive alternative to offers in US and European PSN.

While joining Japanese PS Plus for a year just for taking advantages of its free games seems not worthy enough as a variation for US/UK offers, joining it for a month at just 514 Yen ($4.33) is surely worth it. And to make you feeling better in trying the Japanese Plus, Japan has the world's cheapest 30 days Plus subscription, even cheaper than one month of Plus on Indonesian PSN (which is at $4.5)

For additional information, while UK 12 months of Plus is officially equals to $62.4, you can find it cheaper online such as on this site. And it also has US 12 months of Plus cheaper than its face value. But from my experience, while I successfully tried to buy a GBP5 on July as a trial, I was rejected last month when I tried to purchase a GBP35 prepaid voucher, I was using PayPal as payment. You can try them, and maybe you have better luck than mine, and make sure to like their Facebook page for additional 5% disc. Sadly it seems most online retailers who are selling Asian and Japan PSN prepaid voucher are selling it above the face value. So if somehow you can find another way to purchase those top-up cards on or below face value, pls share.

Just a reminder, this week is the update time for global PS Plus Free games. US and European will receive Injustice, Secret Ponchos and Titan Attacks for PS4, Hitman HD Trilogy, Deadly Premonition and Titan Attacks for PS3, Final Horizon and Titan Attacks for Vita. Japanese PS Plus will receive Killzone: Shadowfall and Natural Doctrine for PS4, God Eater 2 for Vita, and many others unannounced titles. Asian is yet to announce their offer.
