Good news everyone, PSN is starting to extend your PS+ subscription for 5 days and giving a limited time 10% code discount as promised two weeks ago as an apology for PSN members who were affected by the DDoS attack last Christmas.

Not everyone may get the 5 days Plus extension though, only those whose subscription were active at December 25th will receive the extension. So if you were affected, check your email(s) associated with the affected account(s) for any notification. NOTE: apparently you might need to have a currently active subscription to be eligible for the 5 days extension. Our JP PS Plus lapsed and not yet receiving the 5 days free PS Plus, while our currently active Asian and UK PS Plus subscription are both extended for 5 days. We received our free JP PS Plus for 5 days from January 28th to February 2nd, there are no prior notification.

However, the discount code is valid for everyone. With limitation of course. US PSN mentioned that the code is invalid for subscriptions fee such as PS Plus, Music Unlimited, PS Now and rental video content. Which is also confirmed by PSN Europe. The code for PSN US will be sent via Email that is linked with your US PSN account, so be sure to check it regularly is publicly announced via their blog: KF56EM5KB3. 

The code for EU region will be is already revealed via their PSN Store on PC and their twitter channel, the code for UK PSN members is T6R3KB529K. This code can only be used once per account, but it can be use for almost everything except for those mentioned above.

PSN Japan however, decided to give the code public via their blog, and having additional limitation that in-game store items, PlayStation Mobile titles, games for pre-order and rated CERO-Z (mature 18+) are not eligible for this discount. Here is the code for convenience: 8PLLN4L3DQ. This code is only usable in Japan PSN Store.

PSN HK hasn't up in the game yet, but they should announce theirs soon. Similar with Japan PSN, Asian PSN also mentioned their code via their official site.  Here is the code for convenience: RN89HNC5NA. This code is only usable in Asian PSN Store (HK, SG, etc. except South Korea*), the limitations specified are in-game store items and PS Plus subscriptions, but there are possibility that limitation from the other regions also apply in Asian region as well. This code is valid for each accounts, meaning that if you have SG and HK PSN account, both of your accounts are valid to redeem the code once. 

*South Korean PSN has a different code than the rest of Asian PSN: RTARLFKMEE

The code is time limited, here is the time limit for each region:

PSN US: valid from 9:00 AM 1/23 PST through 9:00 AM PST 1/26.

PSN UK/EU: valid from 9.00am GMT on 23rd January until 9.00am GMT on 26th January.

PSN JP/KR: valid from 00:00 23rd until 23:59 25th. Japan Standard Time (GMT+9)

PSN HK/SG: valid from 00:00 23rd until 23:59 25th. HK Standard Time (GMT+8)

Where to use the code:

On PC, just before you checkout with your games, type or paste the 10 alphanumeric digits code into the form as seen below as Xs. Picture is taken from HK PlayStation Official Site, but it is apply to US and UK PSN as well. The second picture is from JP PSN, except for the language, the button placement are exactly the same.

Remember to click Apply in US/UK/HK PSN or 適用 in JP PSN to apply your code.

NOTE: It seems the code is valid for preorders in US and UK PSN but preorders and sales are considered separate, so if you used the code for preorder, means you lose that code and cannot use it again for purchasing games on sale. UPDATE: North American PSN specifically updated and mentioned that pre-orders are excluded. European PS blog has yet to say anything explicit about this, but EU PSN members are already talking about the exclusion of pre-orders.
