Reminder: Resident Evil Remastered ($20) preorder now on PSN US for Crossbuy privilege. Link included.

UPDATE: Crossbuy deal has expired in both UK and US PSN.
NOTE: Keep scrolling for the Bluray version.

Good news for Resident Evil fans, the first Resident Evil game is remastered in HD for PS3, PS4, 360 and XBox One. However you need to know that this is based on the Resident Evil remake for Gamecube, itself is based on the original PSOne game.

We have covered the original Japanese PS3 digital version and the link to purchase just about one month ago. And now it is less than 10 days until Resident Evil Remastered launch date on January 20th on PSN US for $20.

This price will entitle you to only one digital version you choose. However, if you preorder the game now, you will get both PS4 and PS3 version for only $20, as announced by Capcom Unity, complete with exclusive bonus theme for your PlayStation console.

What's better is that it was not long ago since the game is available for pre-loading, means you can download now and play it on the launch date. The game size is 14.2MB (both PS3 and PS4 version). Without further delay here is your link to US PSN preorder:

PSN US Pros:
  • Offering two version of the game at the price of one. Meaning it is only $10 for each game.
  • The cheapest from all PSN store, UK priced at £16 ($24) and not crossbuy.
  • Available to preload now. You can download now and play it on 20th.

PSN US Cons:
  • You have to wait until 20th then you can start playing your game.
  • No physical blurays for US region, meaning if you eventually bought an Asian or Japanese bluray version, your progress and trophies may not transfer.

Still if money and language are not your issue. You may get the PS3 version Now (and I mean today, this exact time) from JP PSN here:

PSN JP Pros:
  • PS3 version available now! And completely in English (incl its trophies).
  • Got physical blurays version, your progress and trophies will be compatible.
PSN JP Cons:
  • More expensive than US PSN, $33.6 for just one version instead of crossbuy.
  • PS4 version not available. Will be available on 20th along with US release.
  • A lot more hassle to navigate Japanese PSN, although the game you want is in English, the store itself is in Japanese.
However we do not really recommend the PSN JP option economically, since the price is not much cheaper compared to the physical bluray version ($38), you can get the Biohazard HD Remaster PS3 Bluray from play-asia.

And if you'd like the PS3 Bluray version with English title "Resident Evil" and English manual, you can get the Asian version also from play-asia.
